O.T Genasis real name Odis Flores was born June 18, 1987 in South Central LA, California. His parents are immigrants from Beilize and he grew up in Long Beach, California. His parents came into the States without anything. Empty handed his mother managed to make her way through all the obstacles and managed to get a master degree. He spent most of his life in Long Beach, California but moved in his older years to Atlanta, Georgia. He said it was because of the business he was in at the time that he kept traveling back and forward between Atlanta and California. This is probably the answer to the question of his different rapstyles. As a result, he has been influenced from the Westcoast as well as from the South. Consequently you can hear both parts in his music.
O.T Genasis was signed to G-Unit records and had grabbed attention trough his Youtube posts. He released his debut mixtape, black belt in 2012., while the first single which was an underground hit and was called “Jackie Chan” feat. Dorrough Music. This single sounded more like an old T.I Song or a Swissbeatz production. He is currently signed with Conglomerate Records, the record label was founded by hip hop legend Busta Rhymes and it is a subsidiary of Universal Music Group.
His most recent and most popular single until today is Coco. It peaked at Number 26 on the Billboard Hot 100. He made two videos for that single. One is the original video with modest accessories the second he made due to the huge success of the single received, includes sports cars, Ice T and his wife Coco. His first major label debut album is expected to be released this year (2015).
