Gucci Mane, whose birth name is Radric Delantic Davis, is from Atlanta, Georgia, United States. He is 37 years old, and has been active in the music industry since 2001. He is a well-known rap artist who is credited to have helped in pioneering trap music, a subgenre of hip hop, together with two other Atlanta-based rappers, Young Jeezy and T.I.
Most noteworthy Gucci Mane has released about ten studio albums and has worked with other successful artists such as 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Young Dolph, Gorilla Zoe, Fetty Wap, Drake, Lil Wayne, Carey, etc. Furthermore he founded his record label, 1017 Records, in 2007, and has released dozens of mix tapes. In 2016, Gucci Mane collaborated with Rae Sremmurd on a song titled “Black Beatles”. This song subsequently became his debut single on the United States Billboard Hot 100 chart.

1. He grew up with his single mother
Though he was born in Birmingham, Alabama; he moved to Atlanta with his single mother at the age of nine.
2. He failed in his first search for a distribution deal
Perhaps this will motivate aspiring artists. It never started all rosy for Gucci Mane. He moved to New York in search for a distribution deal but returned with empty hands. It was upon his return that he got introduced to the boss of Big Cats Records, Big Cat.
3. He started rapping at 14
Most artists started their game at earlier than 14, while a few began later. But for Gucci Mane, 14 was the age he started his thing. Apart from rap, he enjoyed composing poems as a child.
4. 2012 was when he made his acting debut
Perhaps you are aware that Gucci Mane is also an actor but you don’t know when he began his acting career, well, here it is: his acting debut took place in 2012 in the movie “Birds of a Feather” which co-starred Producer Zaytoven.
5. He was first sentenced to jail in April 2001
LaFLare was arrested on cocaine charges in April 2001 and was subsequently sentenced to county jail for 90 days. He had been arrested for several other charges and sentenced to jail on several occasions since then.
6. His debut single was released in 2005 and featured Young Jeezy
With the stage name, Gucci Mane, May 2005 was when his first single, “Icy” got released. It featured Young Jeezy, and both men were upcoming artists at the time.

His independent first album was entitled Trap House, and was released in 2005. For an independent artist, the album was regarded as a success.
8. He has a clothing line vision
Gucci Mane started talking about his upcoming clothing line in May 2016. He called the clothing line Delantic, and said it would feature a wide variety of apparel.
9. He was charged with murder
This happened in May, 2005 after he was attacked, together with his companions, by a group of men. He brought out his pistol and shot Pookie Loc who was one of the assailants. He admitted to killing the victim, but claimed that he carried out the act in self-defense.
10. His relationship with Young Jeezy became sour same month and year they both worked on “Icy”
After Young Jeezy featured on his debut single, “Icy” in May 2005, tension grew between both men after it was assumed that the song was to be put on the debut album of Young Jeezy. Jeezy later claimed that he received no royalties for the song, and further controversies and controversial songs followed from both artists.
